MISDA Kids Sabbath Stories (450 x 290 px) (60 x 30 in) (1).png

Join MISDA Kids as we share story ideas that you can use for Vespers, Sabbath School, Children's Story at church, or any time you need a storytelling idea.  We pray that the various kinds of stories, object lessons, and take-home items will help the kids in your life "Draw Near to Jesus."

ELISHA & the Miracle OIl

In order to create the widow’s miracle oil jar, you will need to print three copies of the printable.  After printing, begin by trimming the two edges on all three of your pages.  You want to remove that outer strip of white paper so you can attach your pages directly together.

For step 2, you will fold your papers on the middle-dotted line.  Step 3, tape the outer edges of the jars together.  Tape them carefully so your pictures line up.

Finally, for step 4, cut around the outside border of the vessel, being careful not to cut on the dotted line.  You will cut around the jar until you reach the upper portion and the handle.  Don’t cut through this section, or your papers won’t stay connected.

Enjoy telling this story while cutting out the jars in front of the kids.  Watch as they’re amazed at how the one jar turns into multiple jars.

Learn how a simple tube of toothpaste can remind us to be careful with the words we speak.  The toothpaste is easy to squeeze out, but it's almost impossible to put back in the tube.  Our words are the same way.  Read

Proverbs 15:1, 2 and Psalm 34:13 to learn how important it is to use our mouths for good.

Seek His Face

𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐃𝐀 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬

Kids love to hear personal stories! Pastor Henry Escamilla is with us this week to share an experience he had as a child. This will help kids remember that Jesus doesn't want us to be afraid, but to seek His face and trust His promises.

  • A Bible

  • A bag with a few items that represent things people tend to be afraid of like a picture of the night sky, plastic spider, toy airplane, etc.

  • A small giveaway for each child to help them remember the lesson, like a copy of the Bible verse, a mini flashlight, or a picture of Jesus.

Frozen Frogs
nature story

𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐃𝐀 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬

Share a nature lesson with kids this week about how frogs hibernate in the winter.  Teach them how God designed the frog's body to be able to survive the cold Michigan temperatures.  Remind them that when sin's cold winds threaten to make us "hiberate" and stop working for God, we can look to Jesus' warm rays of love to warm us up and bring us back to life with Him.
